The Center for Biblical Studies is a ministry of Southern View Chapel in Springfield, Illinois.  SVC is dedicated to the proclamation of the Word of God to the glory of Christ. Our purpose statement is ”Learning Truth, Living Truth.”  SVC also sponsors Think on These Things which is a biblical discernment ministry that examines contemporary issues and theology through the lens of Scripture. The general ministries of Southern View Chapel, the discernment ministry of "Think on These Things" and the academic studies of the Center for Biblical Studies all seek to provide a solid understanding of Scripture in order that the people of God might be “adequate, equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim 3:17 NASB).

The new classes for the Center for Biblical Studies will begin September 14^th and continue through December 21^st.  The course of study will be NANC Seminar taught by Pastor Richard Nix and Pastor Jeremy Cagle. The course will be taught on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at SVC.  The purpose of this class is to discuss the key areas of theology and counseling that are central to biblical counseling.  Students are not required to take the NANC exams or pursue membership in NANC in order to benefit from this class.  It provides a good foundation to enable the student to improve his own walk with Christ and to also be better able to help others in their Christian walk.  There is no prerequisite for this class and no books are needed.  The tuition for the course will be $50/person.
