Outdoor Service Sunday, May 31st

We are excited to confirm that SVC will be holding its first in-person worship service in over two months, this Sunday, May 31st. As most of you know, as part of stage three in the reopening of Illinois, the Governor of our state is allowing churches to hold outdoor worship services. Our service will be held at 10 a.m. on the southeast side of the church building. Since the Governor has issued virtually no instructions regarding outdoor worship gatherings we will be proceeding with our best understanding of the protocol put in place for other establishments now being reopened, such as restaurants.

For more information, click on the “Join Us May 31st” button. Our livestream will also remain available for those who are unable or uncomfortable with joining us at this service.

See some of our ministries that make this possible, follow us on Facebook to learn about upcoming events and hear news related to the church, and download our app to keep up with us on the go!

Each week there are a multitude of studies, prayer times, and general fellowship amongst the people in our church. Check out a calendar of those various events here for different opportunities to get plugged in!

Several ministries of Southern View Chapel have grown into entities of their own. We encourage our members and people in the community to take advantage of these resources to learn and grow.

Learn more about the Springfield Center of Biblical Counseling

A non-profit ministry of Southern View Chapel, the SCBC is one way the church fulfills its mission, “Learning Truth, Living Truth.” As a counseling ministry, our goal is to live out the truth that we learn from God’s word and to help others learn and live that same truth as Galatians 6:1-2 teaches, “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
